Michael Packer played his first gig in 1965 at the age of 15 at the legendary Bitter End. He led two bands with national recording contracts and toured extensively.Michael succumbed to his demons and spent 10 plus years in his own private hell. Clean and sober over 18 years, the Michael Packer Band has a loyal following in the NY region and beyond. In 2011 he was elected into the New York Blues Society Blues Hall Of Fame.We will talk about his long journey and listen to music from "Rikers Island Blues"Gino Matteo is a young man with an incredible knowledge and respect for the past; a true student of life.Gino's performances are spontaneous, explosive, and original- a triple threat to the music world. Gino is the definition of an "old soul" with a voice as smooth as velvet but tough as nails.I will chat with Gino while we listen to some music from "Sweet Revival"l.Roomful Of Blues. 45 years of great music.Phil Pemberton took over lead vocalist duties in 2010. The rest of the band is now, Chris Vachon, guitar; John Turner, bass; Rusty Scott, keys; Chris Revelli, drums; Rich Lataille and Mark Early, sax and Doug Woolverton, trumpet.Phil and Doug will definitely be joining me to discuss the band and its 45 year and their new album, "45 Live" and maybe some of the other guys will pop in also! Finally, 'Couch Kid' Bryan Lee comes back to The Couch to share with us his brand new release, "Play One For Me", the day before it releases!
